In our newspaper (Komsomolskaya Pravda) we published a lot of articles about Sochi Centre of Chiropractic Medicine under the leadership of Y.I.Kolyagin, C.M.S.

After each publication we receive a lot of letters from the people who were cured by the doctors of the Clinic. This is the letter of one of Dr.Kolyagin’s patients. It seemed the most conclusive. It was written by Igor Victorovich Kosorukov, a district children’s doctor from polyclinic №2 in the town of Novokuibishevsk, Samara Region. He tries to express his thoughts about Dr. Kolyagin method from the point of view of a specialist.

The problems of our life and work influence our health, especially in Russia. Unfortunately, it concerns us, doctors, too. I’m 43 and I didn’t have any problems with my health until I was 30. But after that I began suffering pain in the loin region after physical work. Five years ago felt acute paint in my left leg. I couldn’t work more than 20-30 minutes. My colleagues noticed that my gait became ‘distorted’. While being ill I was examined carefully by neurologists, traumatologists, orthopedist, surgeons.

On March 15th 2002 CT of the spinal column showed 2 herniations of intervertebral discs L4 and L5. It became clear what caused the pain. But what would I have to do? During 3 years I took some medicine courses, physio- and kinesotherapy, visited vertibrologist – a manual therapist, event underwent a cure at healer-bonesetter’s. Everything was in vain! Pain retreated for some time but it didn’t eliminate the reasons of the disease. At the result I only did great harm to my liver and stomach. I was at dispair and at that time my parents gave me the article in ‘KP’ to read about the chiropractic Centre in Lazarevskoye. It was then, in September 2005 that I went to Lazarevskoye, to the Centre of Russian Chiropractice, 32 Pavlov St.

To tell you the truth, I suspected that my trip would be successful, but the result was beyond my expectations. I was examined by the Chief Doctor of the Centre Yuri Ivanovich Kolyagin. I remember our first meeting very well. I had almost a mysterious feeling that he knew me inside out, knows my pain and could cave me from my sufferings. Our conversation was quite short. I showed him the results of tests. During the first procedure I felt terrible pain but then… For a long time I hadn’t felt so comfortable and easy in my back. During the first course I stayed and eat in the Centre for 3 weeks. The course included the doctor’s work 15 complex procedures – deep massage and medical exercises. By the 5th-7th procedure the pain lessened and by the end of the course the pain practicall disappeared. It was great – no pain, you can walk easily, not like an old man. The chiropracts of the Centre could help me! I left the centre a healthy person. Besides, the doctor cures my inner organs with his bare hands.

At home I did CT again and my colleagues were shocked. The herniation L4 lessened considerable, the one L5 disappeared. It was on November 26th 2005. For a long time I felt good. It was necessary to do supporting therapy – exercises, swimming, but unfortunately it was not always possible – some times I had to work 10-12 hours a day, there were some personal problems. So, after 6-8 months pain and tension in my loin appeared again. It was my fault. In a year I came to the centre for the second course of treatment according to the recommendation of the Chief Doctor in August 2006. After the course I belt better, there were no such problems as before the first course. The second course included 10 procedures and lasted 2 weeks (a fortnight). Then I came to the Centre in 8 months, in April 2007. I rented a flat because I hadn’t reserved the room in the Centre before hand. I must say that my health is in perfect order now!

What is the secret of do successful cure? How can they get so good results? I have been looking for the answer for a long time, I have read a lot on the problem. And now I’d like to tell you everything I Have understood. I’ll try to be laconic.

1. Dr.Kolyagin’s Clinic in Sochi is the only one in the world where the proved methods of Russian chiropractic are used. At the same time the latest methods are used too. It’s proved by the latest scientific devises of the Chief Doctor. It is the unit of the old traditions and modern methods that helps the specialists of the Clinic to cure their patients successfully and find individual approach to each patient.

2. The patients who make sure that traditional methods can’t help them, come to the clinic from all over the country. And the specialist of the Centre achieve great success – they cure the diseases which are considered incurable.

For example, they cure people with coxarthrosis (lesions of hip joint). Other doctor can offer them only prosthetics. Splitting scapulohumeral periarthritis that makes it impossible for a person to raise his arm retreats after a short manipulation of the chiropract. There are a lot of cases when patient with Bechterew’s disease (when all vertebral knit) feel better of the manifestataion of the disease completely disappear.

3. Chiropractic is a wonderful branch of medicine. Chiropracts must be absolutely selfless. I watched Yuri Ivanovich’s face when he worked, when his hands touched the painful points of the patients bodies’… All the people are different and chiropracts take into consideration the slightest physiological and psychological peculiarities of each patient. Each patients gets his special individual course of procedures for each day (except days off). A chiropract is concentrated on the problems of his patients the whole day. Otherwise it’s impossible to get any good result.

4. Chiropractic is the most powerful method in manual therapy (curing with hands). It can help in many cases. The Sochi Clinic invite people with various diseases. But unfortunately sometimes the doctors of the Clinic are powerless. The contra-indications in our Clinic are oncologic diseases, AIDS, central paralyses after organic lesions of brain and spinal cord, acute purulent infections. That’s why you should consult with the doctor before you going to the centre. Besides it’s desirable to go through preliminary tests – blood and urine tests, X-ray, C.T.

5. I couldn’t understand how other doctors cures high intracranial pressure. A chiropract holds a child’s or grown-up’s head in his hand, feels for every junction, use some modes of treatment directed to the decrease of mater of brain intensity. And how can you cure such a complicated organ as the spinal column, if you don’t explore it inch by inch? The official medicine pays little attention to the individual reproach to a patient; it uses medicines according to the general scheme. I was greatly surprised when I found out that the doctor in Y.Kolyagin’s Clinic try to cure patients without using any drugs. It’s one of their strict rules.

6. It’s of common knowledge that most grown-up problems have been formed since childhood. Among them there are some disease of inner organs, joints, cranial problems which lead to headaches and vascular problems. Unfortunately, our official medicine has no complex diagnostics. Chiropractic let find out and cure diseased when they are not neglected.

I am a pediatrician and I worry about children’s health. Every day I see children with deformities and curvatures of spine. If they aren’t cured in childhood their further life will be spoilt.

7. Take, for example, cervical part of spinal cord. Degenerative changes in this part begin from childhood because of wrong bearing, wrong food, the lack of physical activity, heredity. But our medicine pays attention to these diseases when a person is 50-60 years old. When practically all the segments of the cervical part are out of order, the vessels are cross-clamped, hypertension is developing and there is a real threat of a stroke. In such situation doctors’ can do nothing. In Dr.Kolyagin’s Centre I saw that headache and dizziness begin to retreat thanks to intricate manipulations and people could move their necks. Such results can prolong people’s lives for years!

8. A professional chiropract must have unique hands – both strong and sensitive. It’s extremely difficult to find such doctor. Dr.Kolyagin found a good assistant, Sergei Mikhailovich Shapilov, among a great number of people. He taught him his methods and everything he knew. Now they work together and when Dr.Kolyagin is out, Dr.Shapilov works with all patients. Those who are in the outpatient settings are cured by S.M.Shapilov. Dr.Kolyagin cures the most serious patients and tries to consult everybody.

9. I liked everything in the Centre – where it is situated in Lazarevskoye, its atmosphere, the set of extra services: sauna, the gym, billiards; excursion, food. And of course I was impressed by the excellent complex of medical procedures which included the doctor’s work, deep massage a medical exercises which were directed to stretching all the hardened muscles, fasciae, ligaments and tendons.

10. And, finally I’d like to warn you: be careful. Nowadays in a lot of boarding-houses and ‘medical centres’ you can get massage and so-called ‘repositon’ of your spinal column. I know about the work of the Sochi Centre of Chiropractic and about its Chief Doctor Yuri Kolyagin, C.M.S. I must say that he is sometimes called ‘a living classic’ of Russian chiropractic. We can be proud of the success of Dr.Kolyagin and his Clinic. Of course, not all the patients with herniations of intervertebral discs can be completely cured (as this article reads), but numerous proved facts show that the results are really fantastic! In fact, the doctors in the Centre are real professionals!

Unfortunately, I am not acquainted with Dr.Kolyagin, but I’ve learnt all his latest publications very attentively. I was especially impressed by his candidate theses (dissertation). It contains very interesting methods for treating people with herniations of intervertebral discs. Today his method is the most effective for conservative (without any operation) cure of different syndromes of spinal column diseases and other problems connected with them. I’d recommend everybody to take such course. I’m sure it gives good results in the acute period and during remission.
